My First Images
I am happy to share how I started this project of creating Modern LDS Temple Photos. In 2013 I had this idea for the Brigham City LDS Temple. I love all of the orchards and fruit stands that make up the culture of Brigham and the surrounding areas. On the temple grounds there are a few fruit trees, but I wanted to make the orchards apart of my photos of the temple. I took my old Canon 35 mm film camera, and took a full roll of the temple and then I put the film back in my camera to expose it a second time with the photos of the orchard and blossoms. I was so happy with my first few, but then it took me a year or so before I tried it with more temples. Once I started writing down all of my ideas for the Utah temples, I got so excited to move forward to create more images. The temple holds a special place in my heart, I have always loved photographing them. This project has taken that love to a new level. I love that my images are starting to appear more in homes, especially in kids rooms. I want people to be inspired an uplifted when they see my images.
